Royal Black Preceptories in Eastern
Ontario Initiate New Members
In 2009 three Preceptories in Eastern Ontario have
had new cndidates join the organization. This has created activity between the
area Preceptories in Ottawa Valley and St Lawrence County Chapters for 2010.
RBP 754 Edward had one candidate join Mr Jamie
Stevenson from 126
RBP 135 Smith Falls has two candidates join Mr Jim
Butcher from LOL 88 and Mr Roy McLeean from LOL 512.
RBP 509 Winchester(Groveton) had one candidate join
Mr John Arksey from LOL 3127
All candidates are very keen to learn as they
progress through the degrees, and other area Preceptory members from RBP 383 RBP
77 RBP 227 have been willing to assist with the degrees, showing the great
co-operation between all the Sir Knights of this area.
Donations made to Kemptville and District
Fire Department
The Kemptville and District Fir Department moved
into a newly built Fire Station in 2009. They put out a plea to the community
for support in furnishing the new facility. Many businesses, organizations and
individuals have come forward with donations.
Rideau Bell OYB 65 and Edwardsburg Union LOL 143 of
Groveton, Ontario were some of those community groups that answered the plea for
assistance. The funds donated went into purchasing a new cooking stove and
kitchen equipment.

Gilmer WM OYB 65 and Treasurer of LOL 143 and Wor Bro Reg Weedmark Treasurer of
OYB 65 recently made the presentation of $ 300 from each Lodge to the Fire Chief
Tim Bond.
Carleton County Loyal Orange Lodge annual
meeting
The 161st annual meeting of the County of Carleton
LOL recently met in the LOL 151 Orange Hall, in Richmond Ontario.
The County Master RW Bro Kevin Bradley conducted
the meeting and welcomed all members present.
Many items of business pertaining to the lodge were
discussed and dealt with and various reports were given from the Christmas cheer
committee and the County Executive Officers and also from many Primary Orange
Lodges within the county.
A total 0f $ 13,520 was donated by the Orange
Lodges within the County to various charities such as Anglican, Presbyterian,
United and Salvation Army Churches, South Carleton High School Bursaries,
Richmond Legion, Alzheimer Society, Richmond Agricultural Society, Queensway-
Carleton Hospital, Winchester Hospital Dialysis unit, Smith Falls and Perth
Community Hospitals, Rogers House, Big Sky Animal Sanctuary, Ontario east
Triangle Court, True Blue and Orange Home, Quebec Childrens Foundation.
There were several visitors in attendance including
RW Bro Russell Staye Grand master of the PGOLOE, RW Bro Donald Wilson, Grand
Master of the GOL of Quebec, Wor Bro Alden Fielding County Master of Rideau St
Lawrence County Orange Lodge, RW Bro Art Duncan Dep Grand Master of the PGOLOE.
The County Lodge held a banguet last fall to mark
the occasion of the 160th Anniversary in the Carp Agricultural hall and is
looking forward to hosting the Provincial Grand Lodge Sessions in Ottawa in
April 2010.

Ottawa Valley County Royal Black Chapter

The 91st annual meeting of Ottawa Valley County
Royal Black Chapter was held on January 16, 20010 in LOL 151 Orange Hall in
Richmond, Ontario. Hosted by Richmond RBP 776.
The County Master VW Sir Kt Ron Birtch opened the
meeting and welcomed all the members present.
Many items of business were discussed and dealt
with and various reorts were given, draping the waarant ceremony was conducted
in memory of our departed Sir kts. Various members gave verbal reports on their
Preceptory and their activities. Donations were made to the Dimes for Dialysis
Project and Eastern Triangle Court.

Service in Richmond, Ontario in July.
St Lawrence County Royal Black Chapter

The 91st Annual meeting of the St Lawrence County
Royal Black Chapter was held on January 9, 2010 inthe LOL 143 Orange Hall in
Groveton, Ontario. Hosted by prince Edward RBP 509.
The County Master VW Sir Kt Reg Conners opened the
meeting and welcomed all the members present.
Many items of business were discussed and dealt
with and various reports were given, also reports from the County Executive
Officers and the various Preceptories were received and draping of the warrant
ceremony was conducted in memory of our departed Sir Kts. A Red Cross Retreat
invitation was received and will be held in the Carleton Place LOL 48 Orange
Hall on March 27, 2010. There was a slight increase in membership of this County
Chapter over the past year, with one of the preceptories presently traveling a
candidate and another has two candidates that recently joined, with the help of
a new CD presentation for each degree, which is bringing our degree work up to
the 21st century.
Several visitors were in attendance and brought
greetings, they were RW Sir Kt Mark Alexander Grand Master of the Grand Black
Chapter of Eastern Ontario, RW Sir Kt Mac Storey and RW Sir Kt Larry Toll both
PGM of EO and VW Sir Kt Bev Cluff Deputy County Master of Ottawa Valley County
Royal Black Chapter,. Other Sir Kts in attendance were RW Sir Kt Rob Peckover,
Grand Registrar of the Grand Black Chapter of Eastern Ontario and MW Sir Kt
Keith McCooeye Dep Grand Master of the Grand Black Chapter in Canada.
It was noted that the annual two County Church
Service will be co-hosted by this County Royal Black Chapter and Rideau St
Lawrence County Orange Lodge this year and a Derry Day event is being planned by
RBP 509 and OYB 65 in Groveton, Ontario

RBP 227 Holds Annual Meeting
The City of Ottawa Royal Black Preceptory 227
recently held their annual meeting in the LOL 126 Rosemount Orange Hall in
Ottawa, Ontario. The meeting was chaired by the Preceptor VW Sir Kt Ron Birtch.
A number of items of business were discussed
and dealt with.
Visitors from RBP 776 Richmond were in attendance,
including RW Sir Kt Mac Storey PGM RW Sir Kt Earl Sadler Grand Lecturer and RW
Sir Kt Doug Nixon, Grand St Bearer all officers of the Provincial Grand Black
Chapter of Eastern Ontario.

This preceptory is looking forward to hosting the
Provincial Grand Black Chapter Sessions in April and a Anniversary evening in
the fall to mark the 140th Anniversary of this preceptory.
We hope that 2010 will be a successful year ahead.
RBP 509 Successful Year
Prince Edward Royal Black Preceptory 509 had a
successful year in 2009. Meeting in the LOL 143 Groveton Orange Hall. This
preceptory celebrated 90th anniversary this past year.
At the end of last year two candidates received
the Red Cross Degree, meetings were held every month and usually informative and
educational and in June a catered Anniversary Banquet was held in the hall with
over 50 in attendance. MW Sir Kt Tom Gunnis Grand Master of Canada and his wife
attended. RW Sir Kt Mark Alexander, Grand Master of Eastern Ontario GBC gave a
detailed history of the Preceptory. This Preceptory also hosted the Semi annual
St Lawrence County meeting in June. Members also attended the Derry Day Church
Service, parade and dinner in Richmnod, Ontario, hosted by the Apprentice Boys,
Ottawa Branch. Several members attended the Provincial Grand Black Chapter
Church Service and pot luck lunch held in Deseronto, Ontario.
This preceptory was able to collect $ 104.00 for
the Dimes for Dialysis Project this year from our collection box from our
members.
The annual meeting was held in November, when VW
Sir Kt Art Duncan, Past County Master of St Lawrence County Royal Black Chapter
was in attendance. He conducted the election & installation of which are as

It is hopeful that 2010 will be an active year
with various degree work as a new candidate will be joining early in the new
year and will also be hosting the Annual County meeting in January. Plans are
also being made to co-host a Derry Day event.
Remembrance day service held in Munster, Ontario
A Remembrance day Ceremony was held in the
Munster Union Cemetery at the War memorial, on the Sunday before November 11th.
Organized by LOL 917 Munster and Royal Canadian
Legion Branch 625 Richmond Ontario.
Over 65 area residence, legion members and lodge
members attended. Members of Parliament and Municipalities also attended.
Before the service the ringing of the old school
bell to call to order, the Legion Colour Party and members along with Orange
Association members line up at the entrance of the cemetery for a parade up to
the memorial. Various parts of the service was done jointly between the Legion
members and Orange Lodge members.
After the Remembrance Ceremony Service everyone
attended the Munster LOL 917 Orange Hall, were members of LOBA 164 Munster
provided refreshments and fellowship was enjoyed.
Grand Black Chapter of Eastern Ontario
Holds Church Service and Potluck Lunch
The Grand Black Chapter of Eastern Ontario held a
Church Service in Her Majesty's Mohawk Chapel at the Tyendinaga Territory in
Deseronto, Ontario on August 23,after the Service all the members and friends
gathered in fellowship at LOL 99 Orange Hall for a potluck lunch, which was
enjoyed by everyone.
RW Sir Kt Mark Alexander Grand Master of the Grand
Black Chapter of Eastern Ontario welcomed everyone and thanked them for
attending, he also thanked RW Sir KtLarry toll for planning this event and hope
that we can continue to hold such anevent each year. MW Sir Kt Tom Gunnis Grand
Master of the Grand Black Chapter of canada was welcomed and he brought
greetings. Members of the LOBA and LOL were also in attendance.
Presentation Made to Sir Knight Herb
Prescott
At the
Church Service and potluck lunch held in Deseronto, Ontario hosted by the
Provincial Grand Black Chapter of Eastern Ontario on August 23, 2009 a
presentation was made to RW Sir Kt Herb Prescott of RBP 398 Tyrone, Ontario and
a PastGrand Master of Eastern Ontario.

Herb Prescott was presented with a Honourary Deputy Grand Master of the Grand
Black Chapter of Canada Jewel by MW Sir Kt Tom Gunnis Grand Master of the Grand
Black Chapter of Canada.
Sir Kt
Prescott graciously accepted this jewel and was very humble to receive this
great honour.

Kts of Eastern Ontario and throughout Canada congratulate Sir Kt Prescott and
wish all the best for this well deserved award.
