Who we are — The Loyal Orange Lodge is a fraternal Protestant organization first established in Brockville, Ontario in 1830 under the banner of the Loyal Orange Lodge of British America (Canada) and continues to exist to this day. There have been many members in the Orange Order since its conception most notably Sir. John A. MacDonald the first Prime Minister of Canada. What we believe — The Orange Order believes in equal rights for all and special privileges for none to be a strong motto to stand by. This means all Canadians have the same rights as guaranteed by the Charter of Rights and no one should receive any more rights or special privileges than their neighbor. Where we stand — The Orange Lodge has been a strong supporter through the years to Canada and the Monarchy in its time of need through the many wars and conflicts our members have always stood up and volunteered in the hour of need, many honor rolls list the members of our order who have given their lives for all Canadians. Where we are — Carleton County Loyal Orange Lodge takes in the whole area of the new amalgamated City of Ottawa. We are made up of the former Orange County of Russell, the City of Ottawa Orange County and Carleton County our amalgamation predates the City of Ottawa's. What we do — We in Carleton County Loyal Orange Lodge believe that for a community to be strong it must have the support of its citizens, the Orange Order has been a strong backer in this endeavor. We have supported numerous charities and functions through the years. In the last few years Carleton County has supported actively Operation Go-Home and donated over $35,000. For the Queensway Carleton Hospital expansion over $10,000 and many others such as Dimes for Dialysis, The Legion and local agricultural societies. In all we believe we are a contributor to all in Ottawa. Thank you Donald Wilson Past County Master, Carleton County Loyal Orange Lodge
